The Change Up – Changes are Good!

This movie is nothing but old wine in a new bottle. The concept is pretty similar to “The Hot Chick” (2002) and “It's a Boy Girl Thing” (2006). This 2011 flick came with a difference that the soul changing ritual is happened between two guys instead of a boy and a girl.

The Change Up is a story of two best friends apparently doing well with their respective lives. Dave is a workaholic lawyer, doing his best in his work and has a lovely wife and three children. He leads a lovely average life everyone wishes to. But deep down somewhere in his mind he wishes to escape from this routine life. Whereas Mitch is an irresponsible, underachiever, single; he is Casanova, enjoys his life at the fullest but deprived of a regular family life.

Despite such strong and lovely bonding Dave & Mitch envy each other’s life and secretly want to live each other’s. Well grasses are always greener on the other side and not loving the way of living of someone’s own life is a common concept always. After two or three booze on a certain night they wished if they could live each other’s life. The pee scene on wish fountain was quite an innovative concept to be introduced in a movie. :)

Next day they woke up in each other’s body and freaked out but soon they realized they can take this advantage for few days and live their dream to have a swapped life. Then the movie unfolds the hardship of a life that seems perfect from a distance.

They screwed up and then untangled each other’s lives. This part of the movie is truly hilarious .There are few tired laughs to be enjoyed regarding witty sex humour. Though the movie is quite predictable but it’s watchable for sure. The overall presentation was good enough. On the whole the concept of the movie is to give the message that the life you have got is the best you can get and you should take out the best out of it whatever possible. Try to make it even better; at-least not mess it up.
